My name is Sharon John and I have over twenty years' experience in nursing, midwifery and child and family health care including working at one of the state's foremost sleep and settling centres.

I am married with one son who is now 7 years old. We needed IVF to conceive him and, with the time it took to try and get pregnant naturally, then with IVF, I was an older parent when I finally conceived at 38.

Our son displayed some of the common issues around sleep and settling and those challenges were as new to us as they are to most parents. By this time I had been a midwife for 17 years and a newly qualified child and family health nurse but I was unprepared for these challenges. I studied all I could find, sought advise from experts and the found that the knowledge I'd gained worked for us when applied consistently; I had also found myself a new area of interest.

To build on that knowledge I sought, and gained, employment at the sleep and settling centre and have loved every minute of working there. I also spend a lot of my time keeping up to date with changes to guidelines and recommendations through study, information groups and conferences.

My calmer approach to helping you reach your goals with your baby or toddler's sleep and settling routines is to partner with you in the time we have together. I have the experience, patience and understanding to give you the knowledge and skills you need to work toward those goals and I very much look forward to helping you.
